N. J. Madden is a Naarm-based writer. Madden’s debut novel, Laughing River, was shortlisted for the Unpublished Manuscript Award at the Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards 2024. Madden was a featured artist at the Emerging Writers' Festival 2024. Madden is also a short film director and playwright.
