Booker Prize-winning author Bernardine Evaristo shares insight into her inspiring guide for how to be unstoppable – in your craft, your work and your life.
Additional event due to popular demand! In 2019, Bernardine Evaristo won the Booker Prize for her novel Girl, Woman, Other, becoming the first Black woman to do so and achieving what she jokes was ‘overnight success’ some four decades in the making. Her radically honest new memoir, Manifesto: On Never Giving Up, charts her hard-won journey to artistic recognition, from the challenges of growing up mixed-race in Britain, to her creative rebellion against the mainstream, and her lifelong commitment to exploring ‘untold’ stories. Speaking with journalist and filmmaker Santilla Chingaipe, Evaristo shares insight into her inspiring guide for how to be unstoppable – in your craft, your work and your life.
Presented in partnership with Melbourne Writers Festival. Proudly supported by ARA Group, with additional support from the British Council.
This event is also supported by the Melbourne City Revitalisation Fund, a Victorian Government and City of Melbourne partnership.
