Janty Blair

Galangoor djali (Hello)! My name is Janet Blair. Everyone calls me Janty (rhymes with Aunty). I am a proud Butchulla, Mununjhali and Woppaburra woman (mother’s side) Cobble Cobble and Wakka Wakka on my father’s side. Based in Naarm, I have been doing stand-up comedy for the past 18 months after winning the Deadly Funny Grand Final 2022 at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival. Much of my professional life has been dedicated to working with my Mob within hospitals and community health centres in remote, rural, and urban settings as a nurse and midwife. I have taken life experiences of understanding diverse people and cultures, to utilise in my new role in project work at VACCHO. I am also a burgeoning playwright who loves poetry, acting and singing.
