Rockstar global economist David McWilliams unpacks the power, promise and peril of money – and our complex relationship with it – in this revealing, thought-provoking session.
Money is one of the most seductive and enduring concepts that humanity has ever created. Over the course of history, it has built and toppled nations, sparked wars, crimes and revolutions — and fuelled extraordinary leaps in art, philosophy and science.
In this engaging session, economist David McWilliams charts the deep and often uneasy relationship between humans and money. Raising profound questions about societal order (and disorder) and the inequalities embedded into the very foundations of our civilisations, he argues that money has the potential to allow all of us to live in conditions of greater freedom and equality – and yet has failed to ever truly deliver on that promise.
Join McWilliams, with host Jacinta Parsons, as he unlocks the mysteries of money and its grip on our lives.
